I Spy Display
For December, I created an I Spy display in our case to catch the eye of all the kids coming through the library. I organized the three shelves by color; red, white/blue/silver, and green to give it some continuity. I also used other items to build the display higher and included multiples of some items to add a counting feature. After it was made, I created the rhymes to find the stuff.

Veteran's Day Display
For the first half of November, we created this display to honor Veteran's Day. I used the picture from the official Veteran's Day site to remind people of the exact day. It was fun to research fiction titles for this--I wanted war stories that could have actually happened, not alien invasions! Also, I wanted thrillers set during one of the wars that Americans had participated in, so I didn't go before the Revolutionary War. I also ruled out espionage and other CIA/FBI type thrillers, or books about imagined terrorist attacks.
Pulling relevant books from the non-fiction stacks and biographies was very easy.
No-Shave November: I mustache you to check out these amazing books
For the second half of November, I created this display. The only thing all the books have in common is that they have a cover that I could tape a mustache on!
I found this site with a great poster--I changed the wording slightly to reflect my preferences.

and then I also searched for mustache images to cut out for my book covers.
